Wow, I really feel for those poor people in the path of Katrina right now. It is not looking good. The storm's a category 5 now (175 mph winds!) and she's expected to hit land with at least 165 mph winds. 906 mb pressure right now, and if it maintains that, it will be the second lowest pressure recorded for a landfalling storm. Hurricane Camille was pretty comparable to Katrina, and hit in basically the same spot Katrina is expected, and completely devastated the area (back in the 60's). I really hope everyone gets out ok, and I hope the destruction will be as minimal as it can be for a storm of that magnitude. I live in Central Florida, and we were hit pretty hard last year, so I know what it's like to live through a hurricane. Definitely not pleasant. But this storm is even worse than anything we got hit with last year. My thoughts and prayers are with all those people around the Mississippi right now...
