my... own... PLACE!

I'm moving out of my parent's house! In one week, actually, I will have the keys to my condo in hand. It all happened at the perfect time. My mom asked me if Brett could move out soon, since money is getting tight. He asked his dad if he could move back, and his dad and Jacqui wanted $275 per month! That is sooooo much money compared to the, uh, ZERO dollars my mom asked for rent from Brett each month. My question is this: How come my mom let Brett stay here completely rent free for nearly 6 months (including before the move to Florida) and his own father asks him for nearly $300??????? Brett had to agree because there is nowhere else for him to live... until my genious-self remembered something.

This girl I work with has been trying to sell her condo for the past 6 months because she is moving to North Carolina. Because nobody wants to buy it(Michigan's economy sucks!), she offered to just rent it out for dirt cheap. I told Brett to call up his dad and tell him that's a rediculous amount of money to pay and that he'll be looking elsewhere. OKAY so you may be thinking "his dad is being fair, thats cheap for living" but consider that he will be having to do chores like crazy because his step-mom hates doing dishes and cleaning, plus he'd be living under their rules (no parties, stop eating my chips, etc...). So I figured if Brett payes that $275/month, and I match it, we can be living on our own, without rules and without having to clean up after other people. I am excited to say that Brett and I will be moving into our own condo! It's at 12 & Hayes, so I will be able to walk to school every day. It is only a one bedroom, but the bedroom is as big if not bigger than the living room! Walk-in closet (oooohhhh yeahh!!) and a freakin' BALCONY!!

I seriously cannot wait to have a place to call my own. I'll have people over all the time and endless amounts of spaghetti-o's stocked in the cabinets! The first thing we are going to do is paint the living room and the kitchen. A housewarming party will be thrown sometime in May once we're all unpacked and comfortably moved in. I already bought a bunch of canvases and acrylic paint so I can paint my own abstract artwork to hang around the house. You have no idea how many times I've been to Meijer (at 2am, of coarse) picking out exactly what I want and will need once I get some money flowing in. School ends in a month, so I can work double-shifts galore and hit 40 hours each week during the summer!

I've been dreaming about this forever! It's soooooo much fun when Brett and I get together and pick out colors for the walls and what kind of cooking 'things' we need (he's a great cook) and just everything down to Hunt's or Heinz ketchup!! I can tell he's just as excited as I am. We walk hand in hand into stores and just point out things we want to get. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm so freakin bouncy about this!

In other news my sister Amanda got a job at McDonald's and my youngest sister Erica got a job at Kerby's coney island. And I work at Olive Garden! The food industry is for sure kickin'.

Oh and I'm still passing my classes.
And I might dye my hair blonde for the summer... (???)
And my car turned 100,000 miles 2 weeks ago.
And I'm going on a triple date tomorrow night.
And I AM MOVING INTO MY OWN PLACE IN A WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crazily Yours,
-Jessica
