Pediophobia.

When you were a little girl, did you like your dolls or were you nice to them only because you thought they could harm you?

So it would seem it's not so weird to be afraid or uncomfortable around dolls or other toys.

Now to decide if that's good or bad? XD

What I used to do was take all the Barbies and baby dolls and anything that seemed like it could walk easily and put them all together on the farthest side of the room. I'd build a bed for them so they wouldn't feel like I was distancing them on purpose and apologize for not letting them sleep with me in bed. I'd tell them that they could tomorrow, then continue telling them so each night. Then I would take all my stuffed animals and pillows and make a barrier around me so that they'd have a harder time getting to me, all facing outward. If it weren't for my closet door not shutting all the way, I would certainly have locked them in there. I remember thinking: if you lock'em up once, you have to keep doing it. Either way, I never played with them during the day. During the day it was all Hide and Seek, video games and coloring. Lots of coloring. You'd think I'd be able to draw, considering.

Anyway, a friend of mine and I were talking over dinner about our childhood and somehow the topic came up of how the both of us hated our dolls, and used to do various things with them to ensure they wouldn't harm us. I was curious if this was common occurrence or just something we did, as we're both quite unique.
