So yea...the play was this weekend..and the mess-ups that happened were absolutely hysterical...let's start with Friday's performance..the first one..so I was extremely nervous about remembering lines, etc. Ironically, the lines went on perfectly..but other mistakes gladly took their place. First, the scene changes were rough..considering there was only a singular "wood nymph" that magically moved around furniture for us. Secondly, the lighting left a lot to be desired, to say the least. lol The wrong light switches got pulled at the wrong times, etc. Luckily, I was the victim of a horrendous lighting accident. OK, during one scene, Phoebe and I discover that Aslan has died and we are very upset (that piece of info will come in handy later)...so while we are raving and chatting about what happened (we are the only two on stage at this time), there is supposed to be a huge storm brewing and we are supposed to be alarmed and run offstage briefly while the storm sounds are heard (compliments of a CD that Drew had) and the lights flash, helping with the stormy effect. So, as the lights go off, the main power switches to backstage are also turned off! There can be NO STORM SOUNDS FROM A STEREO WITHOUT ELECTRICITY! lol Phoebe and I are left onstage without storm sounds to respond to...so we are just crying and hugging each other centerstage waiting for some kind of miracle..lol! Fortunately, the rest of the cast backstage responded to our urgent onstage (literal) cries and started banging on any possible medium to make storm noises! It was quite a hysterical sound..but it worked..and since it was the first time we'd ever put the play on..the audience didn't know any better. :-D *sigh of relief* All righty, on to performance #2! Saturday night I wasn't as nervous..and the majority of the mistakes that were made on Friday night worked themselves out well the second time. But...I messed the whole thing up when I lost concentration, totally left my character.....and laughed. lol! I really couldn't resist though...the first time (yea, I am pitiful..there were actually 2 fits of laughter) Aslan grinned at me and I lost total control for about 10 seconds...the second time was at the very end, on my last line of the play...I had to look at Peter and say "Peter, do you think we'll ever find our way back to Narnia again?"..but as I did..I noticed his HORRIBLE hat hair (the boy's hair was sticking up everywhere!) and I lost control again..*laughs just remembering it!* So yep, that was my weekend in a nutshell...and of course going out to eat with Phoebe, Jamie, Drew, and my baby to the Chinese restaurant on Friday..and to Brian's with the same people minus Drewbur on Saturday! :-D Fun times! And today..well...I don't really have anything planned....yet ;-)
