my zen moment of the week... two, actually...
In my Y9 class, one of my students asked me if I knew who Matt Nathanson was...
The second came from the same class, just a couple of days later... They are working on informative writing, and one of my students was working on his introductory paragraph and he excaimed, 'Ah Miss, I got the perfect opening line!'
To which I started singing a Frames song, making him thoroughly confused.. So I had to explain the Irish rock band, etc. They weren't buying the idea of an Irish rock band.. I respond, 'Um, what about U2?'
One of the girls who was sitting next to the perfect opening line boy says, 'Me? Miss I'm not in a rock band....'
'Ummm... **** I meant the band...'
That story was so much better when it was actually being played out.. I may not tell it at parties...
