Dude, Denise! You got wicked skinny!!! Squeee! (Hee hee, I was just browsing around on myspace and it's like "Aaaah! Look at Denise!!!") You're gonna be skinnier than me soon! (Be careful, there's no body heat in bodies like this!) Just had to say that you're looking good lady!

Lessee, my work has been thrown into almost-near-maybe-chaos! For all the peoples who want an update, I'm still a manager at Showcase Cinemas Berlin and loving it, but we just got news that's going to effect my workplace. The East Hartford Showcase Cinema is closing on FRIDAY. I just heard about this a week ago from Mike who was fixing stuff in Showcase theaters and they told him. Now my company so owns this theater, and they made the decision all of a sudden to close it. (What's weird about that is that when I went to Management school back in like May, they were all hyped about gutting the building and turning it into a Cinema De Lux, which has recliners and restaurants and game rooms and concerts and everything, but now they just dropped that as far as I can tell.) I guess they figured out how much it was going to cost to fix the building (it's over 30 years old and went from only having four screens to having about 12, which takes a toll on the building itself) and they just decided to tear it down. I don't know if they'll keep the land, which is a prominent space overlooking I-84, so everyone knows this theater, but if they do they'll probably build a new and better building on it. If they sell it, I guess they'll just concentrate on the other theaters nearby, Buckland, Southington and Berlin. The managers and about 30 employees that work in the East Hartford theater will supposedly be shipped to Buckland and Berlin, so we're kind of happy and worried about that. It would be great to have more managers on our staff, it would lighten the work load and we probably wouldn't have to work as many hours (normally, I've been working about 50 hours a week). The only worry is that they'll lay some of us off and keep others, and I'm pretty much the low-man on the todempole at my job since I'm one of the newest. I'm a little worried about it because, as I said before, I love this job. I like working with the people there and just working in a theater that's almost managed well, and being one of the people that helps manage it, is awesome. I really hope I don't lose this job, but I won't worry about it because there's nothing that I can really do about the whole thing. Here goes nothin!
