I met with the wedding planners on Saturday at Market Street. We met at noon, and were able to walk the space again, except this time they were setting up for a wedding that was to be held there that evening, and I could finally visualize what it's going to look like on my wedding day. How that chairs will be arranged on the terrace, how the set tables will look at the reception, and I got to see all the hustle and bustle of the servers and coordinators, who are required to show up 4 hours before the event to set up, and make sure everything is perfect. My excitement level has increased ten fold.
Having Laura and Melissa to handle all of the small details for me is such a relief. Laura says she's never met a more laid back bride, but I'm not sure if thats because I'm really laid back about it, so sure that it's going to be perfect no matter what, or because the reality of it happening and so soon - hadn't really hit me up until Saturday. The florist/artist who was going to be arranging the flowers got promoted to Head Event Coordinator for the Huntsman group, so she isn't going to be able to do the flowers for the wedding, which would have been a huge stressor for me, but Laura and Melissa found another florist, Sean, who owns Sax-Romney who has agreed to do just the arranging for us. He charges $50/hour, and estimates that it is probably going to take about 9 hours to arrange all of my flowers, mainly because the Orchids that i've chosen each have to be wired individually, which is what is the most time consuming. So he suggested using some green roses as well, which will add to the fullness as well as make the colors pop a little more, and save me money in buying the flowers, and cut down on his arranging time as well. My mom agreed that he sounds like the best choice, so we're going to meet with him next week.
I didn't even know that Kelly wasn't going to be available to arrange, and had I known, I probably would have had my first wedding-related nervous breakdown, but because I have such great planners, it wasn't even an issue. They solved the problem and presented a solution before I even knew it was a problem. What would I do without them?
My dress should be in by the 20th of this month. After a 3 month wait, it will be nice to have it here and be able to get in for my fitting and get my bridals scheduled and done. I realized this weekend that I need to get in gear and get some of the small things done i.e. wedding music, etc. so that they don't present bigger stresses as the day draws nearer. Laura and Melissa are putting together a timeline for me, and one for Seth, which should help out a ton. My mom told me this weekend that it's stressing her out, that I'm not more stressed out. LoL. We're paying Laura and Melissa of Prefetto Planning to worry for us, so why should I? :)
I found a picture of my gown online. I'm so excited for it to be here, I can't help but share! :)
