On Tuesday, the Notre-Dame, Sainte-Chapelle and Rodin Museum were on the agenda. The Notre-Dame was....well, it was a Cathedral. I've seen a lot of them. This one was big, yea, but. Eh. We also went to the Shakespeare & Company bookstore, which was cute and awesome and the bookstore where all the ex-pats hung out in the day, like Hemingway and Gertrude Stein. Very cool. We also ate some yummy ice cream on the île de Cité and saw the Sainte-Chapelle, which is really gorgeous. The upper part of it is full of incredible stained glass. It wasn't very sunny when we were there but I can just imagine what it's like when it is. Thanks for recommending it to me, Jess. Now comes perhaps the best part of the day--the Rodin Museum. We decided to skip the house part of it, that tells you about his life and stuff and go for the gardens, where his actual sculptures are. This costs €1 and is awesome. We got to see the Thinker and the Gates of Hell as well as a lot of other sculptures but the gardens are beautiful and a really chill place to hang out. I fell asleep on the lawn chairs they have out.
We had decided to go to the Eiffel Tower again that night but to go to dinner first. Meg and Oleg consented to go to a veg restaurant and I did my research and found one that looked great. We got there, though, and it was closed so we went to a place across the street that also turned out to be very good. It wasn't vegetarian but there were plenty of options so it worked out well. And the guy only charged us for a glass of wine instead of a whole bottle.
On our way home from that, we decided to go into the hookah bar near Megan's apartment. It was really nice and chill and cheap! (€12 for two teas and a hookah!). Then we went to the steps of the Sacre Ceor, looked over Paris and drank a bottle of wine. Good times.
