Paris Part Deux...je suis un peux ivre

May 14, 2006 20:44

So today, after the sleepyheads finally awoke around 9, we headed off the Louvre, where we spent a few hours. We hit the big stuff--Venus de Milo, Mona Lisa, etc--and then wandered around some other galleries finding stuff we wanted. I can't do a museum for more than a 3 or 4 hours or it gets to be sensory overload and I get tired and Meg and Oleg feel the same way. So we wandered around in search of lunch (at like 3:30...on a Sunday...in Paris...trying to find something that wasn't too touristy or too expensive. This was a difficult task but we did eventually find something.

After this, we took the Metro back to Montemartre and Oleg and Meg went to a cemetary--I wasn't so interested in it--so I took a nap as I was a bit tired, having woken up at 5 in the morning. After my nap, we chilled a bit and then went to dinner. The two places we had in mind were both closed so we ended up at an Italian place. The meal was great if you can forget the fact that I dropped €40 on it with half a bottle of wine and an appetizer and main course. Then we went to a really cool tiki kinda bar and had a cocktail--€10--this isn't Spain, clearly!!! It was fun, though. And after stopping in another bar, we're now home and I'm pleasantly buzzed, getting ready for bed. Bike tour tomorrow morning! Yay--get to see a more complete picture of Paris. I'm excited.

This is going by way too fast!
