It is the life

Well...I'm procrastinating from doing my homework for my honors seminar and my 2nd draft for Writing the Essay so I'm going to update for the first time in awhile.

Life in the city is surprisingly...normal. NYC hasn't lost its magic but its lost its suprising-ness? Does that make sense? Life is well....life. I get up, I take a shower, I go to class, I go eat (mostly repetative, not great food) with some people, I do homework (sometimes), I talk to people from my floor, I listen to music. The city lives around me but is life that much differnet than in Old Bridge? I get bored, I sometimes have nothing to do on weekends (the city requires $$$$). But I'm still happy here. I'm learning to love it.

So Sylwia and I got asked directions to a restaurant from a local the other night (we couldn't give them, we were in Chelsea, and are unfamiliar with that neighborhood) but the point is, we don't look so much like tourists, yay! And were also mistook for twins. Twice. In two days. Once by one of the security guards in my building, the other time by a street vendor whom we bought water and Snapple from. What is that about?

I'm going home to OB this weekend for my birthday and am actually pretty excited. First, the Bruce concert at Shea is on Saturday. Second, I get to see Beth, Melissa, Meg, my family, Myc, Crystal and others. And I'm taking my Arizona suitemate home with me for Friday and Saturday so she can buy winter clothes. Currently, she has no winter coat and only a few sweaters and gloves and such. (Apparently, "winter" in AZ means ~60 degrees. That's not the case in Manhattan). As she has quite a bit of stuff to buy and there's no tax on clothes in Jersey, I get to take her on a tour of the local malls. Should be fun.
Is it sick that I'm excited to be going to a Marching Band show on Sunday?

Yea, yea I know it is....

Writing the Essay is such accursed bullshit. In no other class are you supposed to throw together very very random crap and make it into a profound statement. Stupid class. GRRRR

Anyone want to go to Athens from March 13-21?

Macs are amazing things. I figured out last night that I can access everyone who has a mac in my building's iTunes library when they have it open and sharing from my computer without actually downloading it. I can just play it and listen remotely. Is that cool or what?

'xactly

Well, I'm going to attempt to do some more work....
