This country is amazing. It is beautiful beyond description. Right now, I'm in my hotel in Jerusalem, about to go to the old city, and the western wall. The Judean hills around Jerusalem are like something out of the bible - bedouin sheep herders live on the sides of the hills, and herd their sheep. There are camels wandering the hills farther south.
All of the things that people hear about Israel from the outside - about the violence, and how dangerous it is, is just that - what people hear. For instance, there was a suicide bombing in Tel Aviv yesterday, and CNN is making a bigger deal out of it than the people here. It is accepted. I feel safer here than I did walking through New York City.
