53. Watchmen, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Holy crap. This was the first graphic novel I've ever read, and it was really challenging -- I think it wrecked my sleep, because I had to focus on reading it so much more than my usual pre-bed stuff. I'm bummed I skipped the book club meeting where it was discussed (I have gone to very few book club meetings, but have read all of the books, which is almost as good, right?). Am considering seeing the movie.
54. 61 Hours, Lee Child. Re-read. (I should have gotten more books at the library when I returned Watchmen, but didn't....)
55. By A Spider's Thread, Laura Lippman. Re-read.
56. Some Buried Caesar/The Golden Spiders, Rex Stout. Re-read. Two novels in one volume. This edition has some extra stuff, including a letter reprinted in the back by P.G. Wodehouse, with a line that totally sums up the series for me: "I find I can re-read Rex Stout indefinitely, which shows the importance of atmosphere." It ALSO has Stout's detailed notes about Wolfe's and Archie's physical appearances and the layout of the townhouse, which made me realize I always picture everything mirror image to what it "really" is. Huh!
I'm not sure if I'll track my books in 2012, although I am already off to a "better" start than most of the second half of 2011 -- in the middle of Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, and have Blood Bones & Butter and Common Ground waiting for me at the library...
