Remiss
I have been remiss in posting...oops
This Christmas I was able to go (along with my parents) to visit my sister and her fiance in Tanzania. The trip was absolutely amazing...so much so that "amazing" doesn't really cover it.
Yes, there were issues that my parents didn't like - the really bad infrastructure everywhere we went was a big one. However, for me, I could overlook the shitty roads & the fact that one day i ended up covered with hamjuice from being jostled around in the back of a Land Cruiser (and then imagine opening the door and there being a guarddog sitting right there).
I will never forget the things we saw on safari (saw three of the big five plus several other animals), in Zanzibar, even just in the city. Even now I feel at a loss of words.
And getting to spend so much time with my sister while she's pregnant, and getting to be there when she felt the baby's first movement was magical. If it's possible she looks even more gorgeous - I've seen some pregnant women who didn't take well to pregnancy, but for Lisa (despite it being a surprise), she has never looked better and while she's anxious of having to do this without our mother there, she will be an amazing mother.
But I digress. This trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will always treasure...and now, i only have ONE more continent to visit )I think Antartica will have to wait though) :)
