Ya know, i try to make it a habit to NOT use my friends. and i think that's a pretty damn good policy. There is, however, one exception i'm always willing to make: i have no problem using my friends for new music. If you know something I dont, i want it, i INSIST that my friends share good music with me, as i will always do the same for them.

now, it happens frequently that someone will go "jess, you MUST listen to this band, they are positively the cat's meow!" (ok, so i'm taking SOME editorial liberties there, but you get the point.) annnnd then i listen to them and they..umm...suck. or just arent what in the vein of what i'm currently digging. anyways. it happens, a lot.

but SOMETIMES, you get a recommendation that is exactly what you didnt even know you wanted...something that gets you shakin your ass, and rocking and feeling good and just fucking FEELING it. that is what has happened to me recently...well, actually, in this particular situation, i knew the band but hadnt given them a listen in (what i now believe to be) far too long. but then they got put in my face the other day and since then, ive been like "holy groovy blues rock, batman!" (ok, so that never got said either. whatever.) and ive been loving them and shakin my ass all around the apartment/office, hell, ive even re-discovered the glory of automobile ass-shaking.

ok that's all. everyone go listen to The Black Keys. immediately. and dont credit me with this one, im just passing on the good word...

later, babies~
Jess
