Summary: Just a few moments in life of the our favourite housekeeper landlady Mrs. Hudson.

Mrs Hudson is on her way out of the flat for the afternoon. Her dear old friend Janet rang earlier and asked if she wanted to accompany her to Harrod's and she couldn't refuse. It's been so long since she's seen her anyway. She's just rounding the hallway corner to the door, purse in one hand and her umbrella in the other, when she see's it: Sherlock and his doctor fellow kissing at the bottom of the stairs. Well, kissing may be too polite for this, she thinks. I think this is what's known as snogging. Yes, she remembers hearing that slang on the telly one night and this seems fitting of it. She hadn't even been sure they were together, what with Dr. Watson's flat denials every time it was mentioned. They haven't spotted her yet, both a bit preoccupied with each other at the moment, so Mrs Hudson sneaks quietly back into her flat. She puts the kettle on and hopes that Janet won't be too disappointed in taking a rain check.

It's half past midnight and Mrs Hudson would really like some peace and quiet, thank you very much. It's been two, no three, hours now. And from the sound of it, neither of them show any signs of quieting. How are they not tired yet she thinks, as she turns over on her side and clamps another useless pillow to her ear. Even as newlyweds, David and her were never like this. She prides herself on being more accepting and modern than some of her contemporaries, but even she has her limits. She is happy for them, so very happy in fact. Dr. Watson is a fine man and it's nice to see Sherlock find someone like him, but honestly boys, this is getting ridiculous. Groaning once more, she prays that it'll quiet down soon. She also makes a mental note to ask Mrs. Turner tomorrow if she has the same problem.

The wedding is quite perfect, just a small ceremony in the park, then the reception back at Baker street. Mrs Hudson volunteered to help with the spread, as the boys said they didn't want any gifts and really, this was the least she could do. They both look so handsome, John in a black suit and Sherlock in a deep blue one. The perfect pair.

"They both look wonderful, don't they" a voice says behind her. It's the older Holmes brother, Mycroft she thinks his name is. He's smiling fondly at the sight of his new brother-in-law fixing Sherlock's tie across the room.

"Yes, they are such dears. Truly made for each other" she replies back sweetly.

"Indeed" Mycroft agrees. "I did want to say thank you for all the help you've given Sherlock over the years" he continues after a moment. "I know how trying my brother can be at times. You really are a saint, Martha."

She can feel herself blush, just slightly, and not just because of his kind words. Its been years since anyone called her that. She'd ask how he knew but knowing one Holmes brother, it's not really that surprising.

"Please know that if there's anything you ever need, or they need and are too stubborn to say, do let my assistant know. We can both can be of great assistance."

Martha smiles up at him and politely declines. She's halfway to the kitchen, intent on refilling the cheese tray, when a thought pops into her head. Turning back, she asks  "Well actually dear, do you know much about sound proofing walls?"
