Today
Today is a snow day at work! I've never had a snow day for anything in my entire life. I needed a day off to clean my place to get it ready for JP and Jo's visit. Hopefully RJ's too. I was planning on taking Friday off, but then the snow gods answered by prayers a couple of days early. I may still take Friday off, I need to use up one more vacation day in addition to the time off I scheduled for the holidays.
I also wanted a day off to cook, bake, and knit. I hope I can incorporate all those things into today.
I found out today that I won the book Skulls too. Yay for free books!
I had a moment of sadness earlier today. I was reading winter tips for your pets from the Wisconsin Humane Society and it mentioned how you should protect your pet from resting near a heating source. Immediately, the image of Puddy sitting by the heating vent in my bathroom in my last apartment came into my head. It just amazes me that these flashes of memory can make the heart ache so fiercely. God, I loved that cat.
I hope all my Midwest peeps stay warm and safe. Last night/today has been snowy as cuss.
