I'm rereading the Inheritance books (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr) in preparation for the 4th one being released some time in the near future, and was suddenly struck by a certain similarity. Now, poor little Paolini's books have been angrily compared to (aka, people said he ripped off) Anne McCaffrey, Tolkien, etc. I found a new (to me) one, and just about laughed myself silly putting this together.

Notes: Contains spoilers for Eragon/Eldest/Brisingr. Is likely only funny if you are familiar with both Eragon and Star Wars. And I probably spelled stuff wrong, but I can't be bothered to go look it up in the RLY THICK BOOKS, K.

Eragon Luke, gets his hands on something he shouldn't have, a dragon egg two droids. This thing was sent off by an Elf Rebel princess, with the aim of getting it to a wise old man who isn't quite what people think he is. This old man is named Brom Old Ben Kenobi.

Our hero sets off on a journey with this wise old man, heading for the Beorn Mountains Alderaan, during which he discovers he has magic powers can use the Force. They're running from the Emperor and his minions. The Emperor is evil, and uses evil magic the Dark Side to make people do what he wants.

Our hero falls in love with someone he can't have: Arya Leia. They can't be together because he's mortal he realizes that they are twins, which is squicky!. (only here, the stories diverge, as Luke is wise enough to go OMG YUCK and leave Leia alone, while Eragon spends entirely too many pages mooning over Arya)

In the course of learning to use his magic powers the Force, our hero goes to Ellesmira Dagobah, where he finds out that HE IS NOT THE LAST DRAGON RIDER JEDI! There is, in fact, an old member of his kind hiding in secret in order to be able to train him. Oromis Yoda begins this training, but for various and assorted reasons, our hero leaves before his training is finished, causing his master to facepalm and declare this to be a Very Bad Idea.

Don't get me wrong. I greatly enjoy the Inheritance books. They're well written, especially considering OTHER CURRENTLY POPULAR NOVELS (*cough* Twilight *cough*) and how young the author was when he started writing them. I still find this HIGHLY amusing, and will likely update the Saga of the Adventures of Eragon/Luke as I reread the series. ^_^
