I just came back from vacation this past Sunday. I walked around the dept and it looked AWESOME. I mean, I was really impressed with how good it looked. Then Ken pulls out the drawer where we put all the price changes, and there were price changes left over, not just from Saturday night, but from the ENTIRE week. But, I tried to keep my cool. Jenn helped me out, and between the two of us we put the tags out. From what I understand, Jenn stepped up to the plate when Michelle and I were on vacation. She did an incrediably job, and I'm very grateful to have her in my crew. So I'm walking around laptops and I'm like "Who the hell sold a display model?" because there was a laptop missing. Monday morning, Damian's cycle count ended up being laptops and computers, which I guess was a really good thing, because that laptop I thought somebody had sold, was actually stolen right from the floor. Somebody knew the password, and shut the alarm off. And I mean, we have these freaking sticky pag things on the bottom of the laptops, that it usually takes TWO of us to pull off. Which means somebody had to have sat there for quite some time picking away at it, to get it off, WITHOUT ripping off the model number and serial number sticker off the bottom. But not only that, what makes me EVER more nervous about this, is the fact that they would have had to shut the alarm off to do this, or, somebody in the store shut the alarm off ... and had somebody they know come in and take it. I know that is horrible for me to say about any of my coworkers, but it makes me really nervous. The whole situation, in itself, just looking at how it could have been done, all of the possibilities come down to, it was an inside job... or somebody inside the store set it up for somebody else to take it. Then, Tuesday morning I go to do my alarm walk, and test all the alarms, and I find out the the other set of laptops, they're not even alarmed! Somebody had fucked with the alarm, and somehow got it so that the alarm wasn't going off, but that it wasn't alarming the laptops either. WTF is wrong with people? Those were all alarmed when I left for vacation. They were all alarmed correctly. I'm really nervous about all of this now, and what bothers me the most, is I have a guess as to who it is, but I feel horrible for thinking that it might be somebody in my department. :( Oh, and I got my finger stuck in the digital camera cage at work. :( And I swore at Damian, and yelled at him all day long for everything. Because it was his fault, he got the stupid cage door stuck and I had to get it unstuck.
I can't wait... 10 more days 'til I have a 5 day weekend. :)
