It's been a long time since he prescribed himself the freedom to run away. Forever destined to move from planet to planet with the bigger-on-the-inside TARDIS that captured his roaming hearts at first glance.
The wandering Nomad. The lost Gypsy boy.
He's abandoned himself to so much; the birth and deaths of luminous spheres of plasma, giving and taking life with them.
He cannot always see. Sometimes all those glittering possibilities aren't there. Without them he is adrift.
That's why he needs them; his friends, the wander-lusting companions, so that he can see all those stars with eyes wide open.
