Well, I figured it was about time for an update, esp as quite a few things have been happening recently.
At the mo, I'm housesitting for James' aunt and uncle in Beckenham (SE London). The house is in a brilliant location - literally across the road from the station and tram stop, making getting into London stupidly easy, esp as fast trains only take 10-14 mins. The tram stop also meant that I have a nice easy way to get to the Ikea at Croydon (which was today's trip of choice). Today I went to scope out the furniture I'm thinking of getting for my new place. Yes, my new place. Last Saturday, I finally found myself somewhere to live - I'm renting a double room in a house in West Ealing, and since it only comes with a bed and a wardrobe, other stuff is needed, most obviously a desk and a bookcase. I'm pretty sure I've seen the ones I want, so when me and mum move me down there next week, we'll dump my stuff then go round to the Ikea at Wembley to get stuff. Yay!
The whole move is quite a big transition tho, obviously. It feels scarily real, I guess - I'm actually really moving out for real, not just till the Christmas holidays when I'll go home for three weeks. Also the little things affect me, like having to get new bedding for a double bed - I really like all my bedding! It's all quite a lot to take in, but hopefully I'll survive. Anyway, I have enough other stuff to think about, most notably the new job!!
Last Saturday also saw the Circle Line Pub Crawl, which I joined for a short period of time. Pictures from the whole thing are on Matt Blow's facebook, if any uni types are interested. I look like a drunken fool in the one of me, but honestly, I was not that pissed. Sunday was somewhat more peaceful as me, Matt, Stu and Frankie went to St. James' Park (I took a picnic for myself :) ) and sat in deckchairs all afternoon. I had no idea they had deckchairs there, but it was just the coolest thing ever, so much more comfortable than being on the grass. Plus there was a band playing on the bandstand who we could just hear, and we had the paper, and yes. Very blissful, would recommend to anyone who's spending time in London.
James gets back from Bruges tomorrow, where he has been playing Bridge since Saturday - some people do have all the luck. Still, will be great to have him back, of course :)
