it's my birthday, and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to

OK, not actually my birthday today - officially it was tuesday, but it's kind of ended up getting spread out over several days - my mum sent me some little presents in time for Tuesday, which was nice of her, but it kind of sucks sitting there at 6am on my own opening stuff. A lot of the joy of giving and receiving presents for me is sharing the moment, but it was still lots of fun to have cool new stuff on Tuesday. Then my sis had stuff for me when she got home Friday (I got home Thursday evening), and we're going for a meal en famille tomorrow evening. James also gets here tm evening (later on) and he will hopefully come bearing gifts.

I've also been rather busy with days in school this week - Monday and Tuesday saw me in a boy's secondary school in Thamesmead, observing some French, which was a really great experience, and interesting at times (hint: tables being launched in the class next door). Then Wednesday and Thursday I was in "my" school, spending a couple of days with my class for my next teaching practice. I probably shan't talk too much about them in detail, because that's quite an easy way to never qualify/get sacked, but suffice it to say they're a tricky class with a lot of individual needs. It's going to be an enormous challenge to teach them well - I really am thinking about them and it nearly all the time at the moment, as there's a huge amount I will have to get right to do right by them. If I'm still here in a couple of months, I think that alone will be an achievement.

Also for my birthday I got some money from my grandma, so I have today been and bought new clothes (4 tops and a skirt from H&M) and have ordered books off Amazon. *glee*
