Hello world (or, hello, the half dozen people who read this). I am still alive, honest.

Term has now ended, and I'm back in lovely Manchester, with my lovely, matchbox sized bedroom.

The last few weeks of term went ok, all in all. I managed to write a few decent essays, and even survived a 25 minute bike ride out to the hospital in Oxford. I decided to go the way that didn't involve the stupidly steep hill, because steep hill = no fun. Still quite steep tho. It did mean going back down into Oxford was lots of fun tho :-D

My mum's currently making Christmas pudding and cake, and cut open a lemon to reveal that it was green-ish inside, which is..interesting. Talking of baking, I went all domestic in the last couple of weeks of term and made nutty cake things and cinnamon biscuits, both of which were very yummy. Everyone who tasted them seemed to approve, anyway.

Being home is ok, I guess. I just seem to end up reading an awful lot, because I have a lot of reading to do for next term. Currently on Barthes and Structuralism, which is interesting but does tend to make my head hurt.

Cool link: www.last.fm - your own personalised radio station. Essentially, you sign up, download their little player thing, choose an artist you like, and it plays you stuff similar to that it thinks you'll like and which you may well not have heard before. You can flag up tracks you like to it, so it can play you stuff you like based on what you already like. You can also download a thing for your main music player that tells it what you listen to, so again, it gets to know your taste in music. All cool stuff :) And very much recommended.

I also appear to have become addicted to freecell, thanks to the The Boy (who is still fine and lovely and who I currently miss somewhat). ho hum.

cool links, ramblings
