Day 2 - Your Least Favourite Song

Sex on Fire - Kings of Leon

With absolutely no competition, this song takes top spot as the one song designed to make me shriek like a banshee and throw myself towards the off button if it comes on the radio. Kings of Leon have been around for ages, and I was fine with that. I didn't like their stuff particularly, ( Read more... )

Aah, music is always something people disagree upon. I personally have this thing for Kings of Leon (especially Only By The Night), but I guess it's because I first noticed them when that album came out. However, I do agree that a lot of things can really get on your nerves when it's suddenly a hype. If that sentence makes sense.

Ah well, we'll have to agree to disagree! I hope I'm not one of those people who feel they have to hate things when they suddenly become popular, but when it comes to KoL I guess I am. Curses!

I guess it's like that sometimes. I'm the same with Twilight. Only, I really liked the books, long before they became popular in my area and then I grew up and sort of grew out of them. In the sense that I realized that they weren't as good as I once thought. Only, by the time I wanted to just leave them behind and move on with my life and a wiser, more grown up person (or something) the MAJOR hype about them started and I had to listen to 14-year-old girls who wanted Robert Pattinson to wait four years and then marry them. Unfortunately, I felt like I had to be at least a little loyal to my former self (and I don't really like the idea of turning everything into a hate-fest with the same amount of energy in it, that the love-festing people have. I think it sort of defeats the purpose) and what I really wanted was to just leave it in the past. I'm sorry I'm rambling so much. If only I could do that for exam rapports instead -.-''

I know exactly what you mean! Sometimes you just naturally kind of get over stuff just when other people are jumping on board. It's like 'yay for you, but I'm going over here now, not because of you, just because I'm kind of done now.'

Only, in that particular instance, the hype made me want to run away, instead of just going... But you are right. And sometimes, some things are best, if you can have them on your own.
