EPISODE 1:  ARE YOU...?

PLOT POINTS:

After the season 6 "Oh Shit" finale, we finally find out Deb's next move after witnessing her brother
kill Travis.  We've always had an idea what Deb's reaction would be to find out Dexter's secret....

But we never knew for sure what Dexter's next move would be.  Would he allow her to arrest him? Run?
Kill her...? He starts with the basics; lies and manipulation.  One time only.  I snapped.  Think about
Harrison. Dexter plays on her emotions and loyalty, letting her feel like she is making the decisions.

It works!  Together they torch any lingering resentment of season 6 the church, covering up Dexter's
murderous deed. But Deb is a smart gal and has more than one question.

Thinking his lies were clever enough to keep Debra at bay, Dexter makes a mistake.  Kills Victor
in an airport.  Wasn't exactly revenge for a fellow officer.   It was a need.  Or his reaction to Deb
seeing him kill.  The only situations he can control at this point. However, Deb is tired of the lies
and uses his absence to ransack his apartment.  Well folks, the air-conditioner should probably
retire as the most successful hiding spot of all time.  She finds everything.  Kill bag, blood slides
and something of a prosthetic nature.  Dexter knows he is caught and it's rather interesting to see
the blood drain from his face.

And that is how you set up an exciting season.

THE GOOD:
Deb finally knows.
The introduction of big bad Isaak Sirko. This sexy beast hails from Keiv, enjoys
ambiguous relationships and has my full attention.

THE BAD:
Mike's shocking death.  I don't understand the whole point of his character.  Surely they could have
killed off Joey and found something of interest for Det. Mike to do.
The mistakes that Dexter is making in the first episode. La Querta  found Travis' blood slide at the
burned down church and launches a small scale secret investigation that could bust his ass.
With all these colleagues busy doing side projects, it's up to Quinn and Angel to investigate Mike's
murder at....a strip club.

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT:

"Are you a serial killer?"

EPISODE 2:  SUNSHINE AND FROSTY SWIRL

PLOT POINTS:
There is quite a bit of tension on the home front!  With Debra getting more answers about Dexter's
extra curricular activities, she is on a roller coaster of emotions. But even tho she is dizzy, Deb stays
positive. She decides the best mode of defense is crawl up his ass.  Her valiant effort to rehab him was
a great idea, except for the 0% success rate.  It really becomes a battle for control.  channel vs oppress.
He plays along- to an extent.

Then we have Batista and Quinn inquiring about Det. Mike's murder at a Gentleman's Club.  You can tell
the writers spent a lot of time coming up with a unique environment for Joey to find his true love.
Investigations are so sexy!

THE GOOD:
Seeing more of the Koshka Brotherhood as they track down 'missing' associate, Victor.

THE BAD:
I thought for sure that the Louis character was going to be much creepier and an amusing side plot....
but that dream died. He is just a spoiled man child who stalks Dexter because he rejected him. Over a
video game.  Why would he send the prosthetic arm? Does he know about Dexter or is this really just
about his "video game".  Why did Dexter just leave him drugged up in the park bench?
It doesn't make much sense to me.

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT:
"This isn't a fucking pajama party, Dex."

Yet, Joey Quinn Continues to Live Memorial Wall : 2

EPISODE 3:  BUCK THE SYSTEM

PLOT POINTS:
Dexter is feeling like a rat in a cage. He even wonders "This is what my life has become?".  So he tries
a different approach to try and get Debra to understand his process of taking out the trash.  Deb is
invited/lured to one of Dexter's stalking rituals where we find Ray Speltzer. Deb is not pleased.  As if they
couldn't tell by just LOOKING at him, they find out Speltzer's a total creeper.  Seriously, he is so gross,
I had to put aside my disbelief that a pretty, sober girl would come willingly to his house late at night.  Alone.
But she did.  Maybe he promised her a fun maze!

THE GOOD:
I am really enjoying the Dexter and Deb scenes.  It's fascinating to watch him pissy, impatient and arrogant
around Deb, after years spent maintaining this polite, nerdy charade.
Several episodes After completing his sole purpose of mailing the arm, Louis Green dies. Issak Sirko kills
him for merely being an annoying gnat.  All hail King Sirko.

THE BAD:
Hannah is introduced as a witness to the Wayne Randall case. Dexter's sloppy swab sample gets a gag and a fail.
Harrison.  Writers should have thought of this before they made Dexter a father. Deal with it.

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT:

"My lizard brain has been your secret weapon all along."

Yet, Joey Quinn Continues to Live Memorial Wall : 2
