flash flood warning
So today there was this big weather cell that went through Rock Island. I'm a big fan of fun weather, but this created between a foot and foot 1/2 standing water on the streets from Augie to my house. I was really scared that the car would stall or something like that. So I got home and was still freaked out and I opened up the storm door to the porch and Derek is standing there in the open doorway to the house and said "the porch is flooding". And I look down and the carpet was floating because of the water underneath it. I kinda freaked out! And then I slammed the storm door on my thumb and killing me now. Eventually Derek helped me get the loveseat and dresser off the porch. I sucked up all the water with the suck-vac thing that I empty the hot tub with. The carpet is trashed and I'm not happy...but at least the rest of the house is ok.
It was a terrible first flood w/out the parents experience! It was not not fun. Ok well off to CWA...
