The British don't know how to do Thanksgiving, as evidenced by the imitation of a dinner they had for us on Thursday. The stuffing came out of a can. I kid you not.
So to rectify this, my house and I had Thanksgiving today, Sunday, and let me tell you - it was amazing. I made the turkey and gravy and butternut squash - first time I've made turkey, and it came out really well. (It was a seven pound turkey; when I told my dad that he thought I was joking or had actually gotten a chicken by accident. It was damn expensive, too - 20 pounds = $40)
Sam made stuffing and corn, Anneke made cranberry sauce and bread, Eddie made pies, Tom made onions, Sarah and Chris made mashed potatoes. I'm so freaking full.
I'm so thankful for these people that I live with and the friendships that I've made here. I'm thankful that I've gotten to feel at home in this place.
Americans know how to do Thanksgiving, and it's one thing we do a damn sight better than the Brits.
