I wonder if Sally realized that her return to England would effectively end my days of timely updating. Good thing she came back before she figured it out. The baby boy gets my thanks for the nice weather then.

It's just weird! Reading a sentence upside down is fine but a whole article? And after the way he flipped through his paper I wasn't inclined to think nicely of him. That was paper abuse.
