So, I went ahead and
bought the chart for Sky's wedding gift. I'm a little nervous because this thing is a beast -- 18"x18"(!!!) It is the largest project that I've ever done, my only saving grace is that I plan to do half-stitches for the fields and the beige color of the fabric should be close enough to the color of the paths that I don't have to stitch them (plus, it gives the project a multi-dimensional look with different types of stitches).
I had to order the fabric from Amazon because the standard 15x18 piece of Aida cloth wasn't going to cut it. I'm hoping that I get the chart before Babe and I go shopping tomorrow so I can pick up the thread then it will be ready to go when the fabric comes next week.
I'll be bouncing between this project and the
Secret Project That Will Never Be Finished (actually, if I keep working on it, it should be pretty evident what it is within the next couple of weeks.)
On an aside, Babe and I are trying to decide whether or not to keep cable, so we're trying out Netflix. It's...ok. (I'm going to go through Food Network/Cooking Channel withdrawals if we do cancel it.) I've been going through my favorite episodes of TNG. Man, I love that show. Yeah, it's optimistic, cheesy and just perfect. <3 <3 <3
It's funny because when I was younger I hated Will Riker. Like, I loathed him. Now I'm like, tee hee! He's pretty awesome. (Beverly, Geordi and Jean-Luc will still always be my favorite -- in that order.) Then, I watched the only episode of "Voyager" that I ever bothered watching* --"Projections"-- with explains why I'm probably the only person who thinks The Doctor/Kes is cute.
But mostly, it's perfect for watching cartoons. Johnny Test. Phineas and Ferb. Fairly Odd Parents. Super Mario Bros. (We can tell I'm very mature for my age.)
*I might have seen a few episodes of Voyager in passing, but I couldn't tell you anything specific about them. I know, bad Trekkie. :P :P
