I know at least ONE of you has been waiting for this... hee hee... you KNOW who you are!
Ok, so, not this past weekend, but the weekend before (Nov 11-13), I took a mini-road-trip. For those who don't know, my younger brother Joe (not the youngest) goes to Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. He loves it there so much that he hardly EVER comes home anymore... Guess I just got used to seeing him so much his first year there when he came home alllll the time. :)
Anyhoo, he's in a fraternity there called Upsilon Xi (say: OOPS-uh-lon ex-EE). They put on this thing every year called Sadie Hawkins. It's hard to describe, but basically it's this lil fellowship thing they hold at a professor's house who has mucho land and a pond. They build like 20 small campfires, set up a really cool stage, and basically have food and music around all these fires. The Sadie Hawkins thing comes in because the girls are supposed to ask the guys to go, and buy the $25/couple tickets, which included a box meal from KFC and a t-shirt (I got in for free, ate for free, and got a free t-shirt... teehee...connections).
So yeah, when he was home about a month and a half ago, we set the date for me to go visit him solo since I'd never really been. I stayed in his girlfriend's dorm room with her and her roommates, which was pretty...different. It was fun though, and nice to get to know her better.
***Insert comment: Lee U is a Christian school, hence me staying with girls rather than guys, and stuff***
The drive there and back sucked if you ask me... I got bored being by myself, and even singing got old after a while. Whaaaa? Yes, I just said that. ;) Oh, and let's be honest... My car is NOT a luxury vehicle...not even cruise control. Ew. Didn't like the drive. They took me to some cool restaurants though, and Joe and I went to the final game of a volleyball tournament, which was fun. I also got to help Hannah a bit with her duties as soccer... "assistant?" That means we washed the players' clothes for them. LOL.
It was fun overall. I enjoyed spending time with my brother (who is coming home this week...yay!), and getting to know his girlfriend better. I also enjoyed meeting their (SUPER nice) friends and acquaintances. AND I got to see Lauren Blanton, aka my old neighbor from when I was growing up. We even had dinner! That was nice. :)
So I'll quit rambling about it... and how beautiful it was down there... and I'll leave you with this:
(from Sadie Hawkins...thanks Hannah!)
not the best pic of me, but whatever!
