so far this week has included mini golf & cotton candy ice cream (i got a hole in one and tied drew for first~ i should go pro), a visit from the boys, cruisin for playgrounds, and national honor society ceremonies~ a decent mixture of fun. But what really made my week was none other than Miss Emily Joseph. Not only did she take a trip to New York (and no it wasn't for bear hunting, despite what I told Ms. Sundstrom), she kept love for us Leominster east siders all the way. She told those fellas about us townies who acknowledge Johnny Appleseed as our hero, the man who planted appleseeds all across America. She told them of our Johnny Appleseed parade and festival, and also of our Johnny Appleseed School. The best part about all this is that those kids KNEW about Johnny Appleseed. I mean, these kids live a good six hours away from us in upstate NY and they know of our small town hero- that's just sweet. so the moral of this story, if there is one, is that us small town kids who live in a city lacking any excitement can still be proud of what we've got cuz if we believe in it enough it will eventually find it's way to upstate NY through children's books and word of mouf by faithful citizens such as Miss Emily Joseph.
