A/N: Well, um, first multi-chaptered fic! I always fail in multi-chapters x_x I hope this one doesn't. Um. This story is mainly about thrillseeker!Kame going on a skydive, loses his memory and meets a mental!Jin.

He could feel the grin plastered on his face. The plane was gliding through the air - and he was standing up, backpack on and about to experience the skydive of his life.

The plane’s door opened, and Kame held tightly onto the handles People behind him made a check for the millionth time that his backpack was nice and secure, and would be able to work.

“Are you ready, Kamenashi-kun?” A man called from behind, and without any second thought, Kame nodded his head in response. Without waiting for the “Go!” signal from the man, Kame steadily let go of the handles, and jumped - down, down, down.

He started to laugh, enjoying the wind and the air. He reached his arms out, attempted to do some aerials and he was diving down, down, down, onto the ground once again, and then, he reached out to open his parachute.

His movements were limited when he felt a sharp pang on his back and blacked out.

-x-

He slipped back into consciousness, and opened his eyes slowly, eyelids feeling heavy. He felt pain all over his body - aching, aching, aching. He winced, then tried to move his fingers, only receiving another pang of pain.

Panicked, his eyes started darting everywhere. He saw white in front of him - a white ceiling, he supposed. There was a distinct black blob at the side, and his eyes made way to a person wearing black clothes, sitting on a chair sleeping.

His hearing started to come to him slowly, and he let out a slight chuckle when he realized that the person in black was snoring, albeit quietly.

Then, realization hit him. Where was he? Why was he in a white room? Why was he stinging with pain? Why was there someone next to him?

Who was he?

He started panicking again, and quickly tried to move him limbs, though each attempt had earned him only a whimper of pain. He lifted his head up - but was met with a soft pillow. He knew it. There was no way out. He had to be stuck in this peculiar room. What if he was kidnapped? Or maybe he was captured and this is a dungeon?

His eyes looked around the room, and found the door. Knowing that he couldn’t move, his eyes looked the other way and moved to see the person in black.

Talk. Talk. Talk. He had to talk with this person. He had to know what was going on. He had to know who he was, where he was and how did he get there.

Talk.

“A-Ah...” he only managed to say, and mentally slapped himself. Why was he this weak right now?

But it wasn’t for nothing, the man in black stirred from his dream. His eyes opened, and they were dazed, his eyes slowly darting from place to place before they finally settled him.

A grin broke out in the person in black’s face, and he abruptly stood up, grabbing his bandaged hand.
“My name is Jin. What’s your name?”

He didn’t know what to say. He wanted to say something, but the pain in his body didn’t allow him to. There was something about this man - his facial expression and the aura he gave out completed contrasted with his dull and black clothes.

Then, his expression changed into a frown.

“You can’t speak?”

He felt helpless. He couldn’t move. “Y-ya-“ He only managed to say out before starting to cough, catching the other man’s attention.
“Okay. You can’t speak. Do you have a name?” He asked expectantly. Was he dumb? He already knew he couldn’t speak, why ask for a name?

“Okay. So you don’t have one? Jin will make one for you. You’re cute, so Jin is naming you Turtle. Kame-chan.” Jin beamed widely, and grabbed Kame-chan’s hand, shaking it and taking no notice initially that Kame-chan was aching with pain all around.

“S-stop-“ Kame-chan whimpered out, and he wondered if the man shaking him was crazy.

Jin frowned, and then frowned some more, then he panicked.

“Oh my god, Kame-chan, are you okay? Do you need to drink water? Jin can get it for you! Wait, Jin will get water-!”

Kame-chan stared as he saw Jin frantically look around the room, then rush out the door and come back a few seconds later with a bottle of water. Happily, Jin skipped over to Kame-chan’s hospital bed.

“Say ahhhh~” Jin cooed, unscrewing the bottle cap, and lifted it over Kame-chan’s mouth. He frowned when Kame-chan’s mouth didn’t open.

“Kame-chan, what’s wrong?”

No answer.

“Oh, Jin gets it now, Kame-chan! You can’t open your mouth because Kame-chan is hurting right? So Jin will open it for you~” Jin beamed again, speaking in an overly jovial tone.

“Say ahhh~” Jin repeated, and Kame-chan stared in panic as he saw Jin’s fingers - long, slender fingers - slowly move towards his mouth and opens it for him. The tip of the water bottle accidently hit his front teeth, and Jin apologises, then continues to pour water into his mouth, the colorless liquid poured down his chin and left a little pool near his neck.

“Jin will take care of you. So don’t worry, ne?” Jin smiles again, but this time the smile isn’t so big that his eyes are slits. This time, the smile looks sincere and caring and his pearly white teeth weren’t showing. Kame-chan instantly relaxes, and doesn’t worry.

The days pass, and slowly, Kame-chan, now shortened to Kame, finds out that he’s in a hospital. The days pass, and slowly, he can start to talk, and move his limbs a little.
“Jin, why am I here?” Kame would ask every once so often, and Jin would mostly just leave him hanging there - hanging, hanging, hanging. He would give Kame his nicest smile and talk about the compatibility of eggrolls and fish or whatever sparked his mind.

“Ne, Jin, when can I get out from the hospital?” Kame asked one day, having stayed inside his cooped up room for two weeks already. He had received no answer from Jin - the childish, slighty slow and third-person speaking Jin.

“Ah not yet!” Jin warned in an exceedingly childish frown. “Not until Kame-chan gets better!”

Kame gives an exasperating sigh and smiles a bit at Jin’s pout.

“Okay, Jin, why am I in hospital?”

“Ne, Kame-chan! Isn’t the weather sunny today~”

Kame laughs a little.

“Kame-chan, do you think Jin and Kame-chan should go out today?”

“Go out?”

“Yeah, just Jin and Kame-chan. We’d go out today, and then we’d go to the amusement park. We’ll go on all the rollercoasters and buy all the ice creams, and then it rains and we go to eat hot dogs inside. And then the rain stops and a rainbow falls, and then we’ll go see the rainbow, then we’ll climb on top of it, and then we’ll walk across the rainbow, and Jin will dye Kame-chan’s hair red, orange, yellow - all colours of the rainbow. And then we can go and collect the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and live there forever and forever and forever.”

Kame pursed his lips. It was ridiculous. Just like Jin - always like Jin.

“Kame-chan? You don’t like it?” Jin frowned, looking at Kame with kicked puppy dog eyes. Kame forced a smile upon himself, grabbed Jin to an embrace and stroked his hair like a pet.

“Jin, I like it. Kame-chan likes it. So let’s go on a date today, alright? Just the two of us.”

“No Kame-chan! No! No no no! Kame-chan’s legs aren’t well yet! Not yet! Jin and Kame-chan will have to go sometime else! Until Kame-chan is better?”

“Jin, I can just go on the wheelchair-“

“Jin doesn’t want people to think Kame-chan’s legs are broken.”

“Ah, b-but it’ll be okay-“

“Jin is defeated. Jin will go if Kame-chan wants to. Jin doesn’t want to, but since Kame-chan is so cute, Jin can go along.”

“Oh, don’t worry. W-We can go another day.”

“Okay. We can go another day. Until Kame-chan’s legs are fixed. OKAY.”

Kame received probably the millionth smile he had ever gotten from Jin, then the older man had jumped onto him and hugged him with all his strength. It was always in this time, Kame feels suffocated from Jin’s hug, but somehow, he feels free. He senses freedom in Jin’s arms, and Kame doesn’t argue and returns his hug.

As he senses Jin breathing on the crook of his neck - even breaths - his hair smelled slightly of coconut and honey. He was wearing the same black clothes as he was the first day Kame had saw him, his outfit never changed. He was a handsome man, Kame didn’t disagree.
But, always, Kame would wonder about Jin. About what he did, who he was, where his parents were or even the size of his house. Jin always visited Kame in the hospital, every day, every day, every day. He was always the same Jin, he was childish, cute, innocent-like.

Though, one thing Kame knew about Jin was that he was mental.
