OTAKON WRAP-UP

Ye gods, con going takes a lot out of you. That and a drive through the east coast that lasts 10 hours instead of 8- curse you, Jersey Shore traffic!

But we had fun. Really! Despite there being a crab shortage, we had mussels at Berthas, and I got my Oysters on a half shell later on, and we had plenty of wonderful heart clogging fried foods.

The two coolest things were the fact that people actually realized who I was, despite it being a non-anime character (for you brits, I know Adam is a rather recognizable character in England, but in America he's a bit more obscure). Granted, everyone who recognised me was over the age of 25, but I don't mind.

Pictures can be found here: Beware of flesh wounds and Adam Ant ( swear I am not that big- it's the damned sash.

And the art?
ChibiDoc took the lead with a wopping $55 dollars at the silent auction. The Bunnies Can't do Cosplay netted $35 at the live auction, and The Endless a wonderful $28. Mushishi (a hold over from last year) was exchanged in the dealer's room for a discount of 5 bucks. Woot.
Wait, that means I broke my $100 dollar goal for art this year, and it was the lowest amount of art I submitted in years. Thank you, secret Doctor Who fans in Otakon!

Now I'm just trying to get through the next few weeks so I have enough time to look for a second job, do nice art and finish up getting my power of attorney documentation approved. Whee.

Last but not least, I did not read the last Harry Potter book, but have been spoiled. I will probably not read it, and I don't mind. It was rather predictable, and honestly, I'm glad its over- until the 12 year old emo goth slash writers find my other fandoms and get their sticky little fingers on it. Luckily, most of the humor/plot of Discworld goes over their heads. They've already invaded Doctor Who. Bleh. Though it does amuse me that certain fans are only happy when they are complaining about mistreatment of their character by the general public.

And Happy Birthday, kitetsu-haru, aka, Roomie/carbuddy of DOOM!
