I think there is a small leak somewhere in the fuel filler area that is allowing vapors to escape and trip the sensor. Of course, fixing it costs money...
Get a new gas cap and go to a garage and have them reset the computer, so that light isn't triggered. Put the new cap on BEFORE you start the engine. It really may be as simple as that.
