I wonder if the Riverwood dragon fight is fixed, because in my game the dragon that attacked there killed Alvor and his wife too! I actually reloaded twice to see if I could save them, but my character is more "let's tire this guy out then wail on 'im at the last second" rather than getting in a one-hit kill. The wife always dies first, then Alvor charges in blindly right into the path of a dragon's fiery (or frosty) breath to avenge her. No blacksmith in Riverwood anymore... Their kid is one of the most annoying ones in the game, but I didn't want that to happen!
I've had the game freeze on me about a dozen times, which is annoying. Nothing ever drastic, but let's just say I've hard saved about 600+ times LMAO. I've "only" played about 60 hours but I'm already level 42.
I still don't know what side to choose. I know I can say "you can do this now, and then do the other side later" but GOD damn it's just a hard choice. I just want to be diplomatic and come to an agreement. I would pay for a huge expansion that allows you to destroy the Dominion (or help them, if you're messed up lol). Ugh... I just don't know.
Honestly I will probably play this particular character until I do almost everything, which is what I did with Fallout 3 and NV. But I sometimes get sick to the stomach when I realize I've got a ton of side quests in my log and haven't even visited Dawnstar, Solitude, Windhelm, or Falkreath...
Alvor... he smiths now for the heroes of Sovngarde! A sad end to a brave family, but how many countless innocents have fallen to the wrath of the wyrms..? Fuck 'em!
I actually have not had many freezes, thank Shor, but at least you didn't get anything too egregious! Saving is smarting! The worst glitch i had the pleasure of experiencing was a huge fuck-up during a portion of the main quest which required me to actually go into the console and flag the missions as completed. I missed cool shit because of it and had to watch it on Youtube LMFAO.
It was a tough choice! Especially because i took the time to earn a Thanedom in every city, so i had already ingratiated myself with those people, especially Elisif, and it was sad bringing the fight to all of those people i had grown to know. But whatever their reasons, the Stormcloaks were the only people willing to fight to throw off the Thalmor yoke. The Imperials were content to wait and watch as innocents were carted off and killed for something as simple as worshipping Talos, in the hopes that they could eventually have the strength to fight back. FORBID IT, ALMIGHTY TALOS! I do hope for an awesome expansion that allows us to take down the Dominion, or at least push them out of Skyrim and begin a new war against them.
Don't feel too bad! In all honesty, i didn't even do any of those towns until the very end and refused to talk to anybody there because i was afraid of starting more quests LMFAO. I pretty much just did what was required to become a Thane and then moved on. I did Windhelm last, since from there i would start the civil war questline and then move on to the main story. Enjoy yourself! :)
