back...home?

It's been quite a long time since I last posted - but to be fair, I have been doing a lot!

My parents drove down to see me last Thursday which was very welcome. I got a steak pie, real ale, and then an Aberdeen Angus steak dinner - do you see a theme there?? Then Rob came over to stay last weekend; he arrived Friday night and left Monday morning, so we had a nice long stretch of seeing each other. Sharing a single bed is confusing...especially when you find yourself on the floor at 3am and don't know how you got there!

The last week has been more settling in for me, and Sussex is truly feeling like home to me now. Laura and I managed to commit the ultimate sad crime and go out for dinner and drinks, and get the last bus before the more expensive night bus home at half 11! Never mind - we were very tired girlies, full of Wagamamas noodles and very happy :) Thursday was our friend's house party which was quite a success, although I did use the expression "I want to die" more than was strictly necessary the next morning in my maths lecture!

I got a call from Rob in the week telling me that was going home at the weekend, so I took the logical decision to go home too. My less logical mind said "go to Southampton and get a lift back with Rob" but then my common sense came back from holiday and let me know that actually, travelling for 2 hours on a Friday afternoon to then travel another 2 hours or so to MK wasn't quite as time effective as just getting on a 2 1/2 hour train from Brighton straight home! Yes, I managed to get on a train at one end and get off at the other...on time!! I've found a new station, Flitwick near Bedford, that I can get a direct train to, which saves all that changing and delays and missing trains etc.

Thoroughly enjoyed my weekend at home seeing the new window in our dining room and partying brass band stylee. Not sad to be back in Brighton though...it's like living two very separate lives. I just have to switch them from time to time.

Well done to Broseley Brass for another successful autumn concert on Saturday night. I had lots of fun doing the raffle :)

So, to sleep, in readiness for my 12pm lecture and 1pm 4 hour lab tomorrow. Synthesising aspirin, here I come! Anyone have a headache? ;)
