Paper writing is boring.

It's so boring that I wasted time watching Scrubs and now I can't go to the show I was planning on going to tonight. Oh well, it's raining anyways.

Tomorrow I have a couchsurfer coming. Hopefully he won't mind going to a lecture with me at the library, then watching Jericho, then either playing trivia or going to a show at the Frowny Bear. Greg and I are going to be BEST FRIENDS FOR LIFE. I'm hoping he won't kidnap me. Greg decided to go on home without stopping in Lexington. Sadness.

But really, writing about the economics of construction and architecture in the late 19th century is not exciting at all right now. Sure it's fun to talk about especially in class when you get to use big words and sound smart, but actually writing objectively about it sucks.

I'm leaving for Amsterdam in two weeks. I'll be traveling with a bunch of people who I don't really know which is kind of scary. Germany was bad enough not really being friends with the people I went with, but this time I really just don't know any of them. But the fact that I'm going to be seeing that city and the WOZOCO building which I used to spend way too much time fantasizing about is so exciting. Of course now I realize it's just dressed-up, stark functionalism (see also: Museum Plaza) but it's one of those things you grow up with, like Salvador Dali. And you can't knock things that were greatly influenced your creative thinking.

MVRDV's WOZOCO Housing

Joshua Prince Ramus' Museum Plaza

Salvador Dali's Temptation of Saint Anthony

More to come on Amsterdam. Got any recommendations?
