road trip to Ot-ta-wa

I went to Ottawa yesterday. Maybe should have done alittle more research before I jumped into that one. I wanted to see the national gallery and Parliament (I've never been to Ottawa before) Buut, the gallery along with the photography gallery are apparently closed on mondays and tuesdays. but anyhow I got to walk around the outside of the building and drool alittle as we walked by a window where you could see a poster for the group of seven. And apparently Parliament doesn't give tours after 1:00 or something. So after going through security that's tighter than the airport (really) we got to go into the peace town that from the inside looks more like it should be in an "Austin Powers" movie with it's gold mirrored celling than should be the foundation to our country, however, it was cool. Later I saw interesting things like.. the mint, which deceivingly does not make circulation coins. and there I lost 1/2hr of my life i'll never get back, and so the highlights;

Tour guide: "The toonies have never been able to be destructed through normal use, people tried everything from hammers and drills and leaving it in the freezer for 3 days."
fatman on tour: "So that worked, 'cause I was thinking about using liquid nitrogen"
Tour guide: "that's highly illegal, sir"

Any how I can only draw one conclusion about Ottawa;
there is absolutely nothing interesting to see there.
But on the upside one of Travis' friends Steven was my escort for the day. Who I was very grateful for, 'cause such an ill-planned trip is funny but an ill-planned trip with someone else is hilarity.
