I got to shoot my first pieces of footage today for my TV production class. They were simple landscape shots of school buildings in the snow and such for the student TV station "LTV". We didn't get all of our shots done (no one did, btw) but we were already working a man down from the crew because she was absent.
Positives:
-The teacher generally seemed excited about our shots. We got nice snow footage for winter news segments. :)
Negatives:
-Need to reshoot one we already shot because of lighting issues. Not a huge deal.
I was mostly the camera man today because the other girl didn't know the camera that well. I was doing my very best to let her do some work and take shots and focus certain ones. I didn't want to dominate the camera time because I have this stupid impulse to do everything myself if someone doesn't get it right away.
I learned my class "Persuasion" has a supposedly easy grader teacher. This is good news for me since I have this teacher for two different classes. :) Hopefully that is true. I really need to boost my GPA because of parents bitching. The GPA boost would also look great for any internships I apply to as well.
--- Video Time! ---
I know a lot of my friends here are not World of Warcraft fans. But even if you are not a fan, I found a fantastic machinima (movies created using a game engine) that has a compelling storyline without dialogue, awesome action, and fantastic animation used to boost the story.
I recommend going to the Vimeo website itself to get the video in Hi-Def. It makes a huge difference.
