Yesterday was the first day of Spring yet I woke up to snow falling. Weird, but I have a soft spot for snow so I didn't complain.
My birthday was really nice. All of my friends and family and students made me feel so special and loved, so it made for a really great birthday.
On Tuesday- St. Patrick's Day- the day before my birthday- they had a little party for me at Kaplan with cake and quiet singing. The girls all gave me a gift certificate to Ulta, and then Barb, Jill, and I went to Champps for Happy Hour.
Wednesday was my actual birthday and lots of my kids made me cards and some brought me presents, and they were the sweetest presents. Maddy made me a friendship bracelet, Jordan made me something out of gimp, and Samantha gave me a gift bag full of things that a 3rd grader loves- a pencil sharpener in the shape of a high heel, a Chinese yo yo, a top, a lip gloss, and a bunch of candy, It was all really sweet because you could tell that the presents came from the heart. Nicole gave me a gift card to Bernard's which I will use on Monday to get my nails done. Also, about half the third grade sang "Happy Birthday" to me in the cafeteria during lunch which was embarrassing but also so nice. It was a really good day at work.
Beth and Ryan came over for dinner then on Wednesday night. We had a barbecue but it was a lot of fun. Beth and Ryan seem to be doing really well, but Ryan is going back to Florida on Tuesday. We all got along really well though, and laughed a lot, which is really the best present I could ask for. Also, the kids I babysit for called me and sang to me which meant so much to me.
Enjoy the first weekend of Spring!
