(no subject)
Today I was able to file for unemployment because my contract expired yesterday- I can't wait to start getting that check. Babysitting is going well, but a little boring at times. Luckily it's only 3 days a week for 4 1/2 hours a day.
I spent some time down the shore last week and I really enjoyed myself. We stay at my neighbor's house in Ocean City and I absolutely love it. It really brings my family together because even though there is TV and internet, we don't get caught up in it and we do more things together. One of my favorite things is sitting around the kitchen table playing Rummy- it's become a tradition now.
Thursday was my Dad's birthday so David and I drove down then. I baked him his favorite cake as a surprise and we planned to walk in singing with the candles lit. So David and I sat in the parking lot lighting 58 (He's 57 plus one for good luck) candles in his car, and as soon as I opened the car door and stepped out holding this flaming cake, all the candles went out. It was hysterical. We snuck (apparently there's some debate about whether snuck is a real word or not but sneaked just sounds weird to me) in the house and lit them again, so my Dad was able to blow out the wax stumps.
I've also been reading a ton. I spent 2 days on the beach and each day I read a whole book- Second Draft of My Life and The Man of My Dreams.
