I am so happy. I can't remember the last time I was this happy. My client filed this morning - look up The Interpublic Group of Companies - if you're interested in knowing where the hell all my time has been invested since April. Anyway, we just restated 2000-2004 income, and the 2004 financials were filed with the SEC at 6:34 this morning. What a relief.

My whole team took the day off today - other teams really hate us at the moment - due to exhaustion. I worked 17 hour days all week, I fucking deserve it dammit lol.

In exchange for selling my soul to PwC, I got five extra paid days off that I have to use in October. I also got a couple grand as a bonus for my hard work. The conference call I had to get on today was essentially the most heartfelt gratitude I have ever heard from a partner. Not only did the client doubt us being able to file by today, but I think early in the week, we were questioning whether we could pull it off as well.

If you look on WSJ, NY Times, or any other major publication, my client has been in the news I guarantee every single day since March when the restatement was announced. If they didn't file today, they probably would no longer be in existence. The fact that their stock price rose 9% half an hour after the 10-K was filed just makes me feel like we do make a difference in some small way. I mean I was literally sick to my stomach last week when I started thinking about how many people would lose their jobs if this didn't get filed on time...
