am sorely disappointed.. was going to buy a pair of adidas on offer at the forum today but the shoe was too narrow for my foot (left). it's a bit aggravating sometimes, having to drag around a deformed foot in slippers cuz normal shoes don't fit. it's almost enough to give one a complex. for the record i'm not sloppy k... not footwear-wise, anyway. yeah i do quite like the FAS bum look but that's not why i wear slippers.
have managed to survive another week yet again and everything seems fine :)) i'm really enjoying my lit mods (surprisingly) and worrying over my el one (which was totally unexpected..) trying to figure out how to write a science paper and whether science papers should read like it was written by a human. overall good kinds of stress (i think) and looking forward to seeing doggies tmrrw.. wooOOAH!! :)))
just watched 2001: A Space Odyssey. being the proletariat that i am, i'd have the say that the ending didn't make much sense.. or any that really appealed to me (yes i've been reading up on interpretations.. someone claims that the aging sequence was an afterthought, and that Kubrick mentioned that before Dave was simply meant to wander around till he found the monolith. does that make any sense now, then?)
for the first 20 minutes, i endured men in monkey suits jumping around and waving bones.. then at least 30 minutes worth of trippy psychadelic lights during the movie proper. why? why??? why do this to me??????? i wasted 2+hrs of my life watching something that i feel pressured to understand.. or at least pretend to. i do get the tropes, yes. even the freaky alien conspiracies. but it don't mean much to me.
(i must admit though--that Hal is possibly the creepiest computer program i've ever encountered in fiction)
