Love toy program said big success
For the second year in a row, Love INC of Adams County has partnered with The Pampered Lady of Decatur to provide Christmas toys for families enrolled in the Love INC Life Skills Program - an education and mentoring ministry of Love INC of Adams County.
"People enrolled in this program are individuals who agree to hand all checkbooks, debit cards, and credit cards to a life skills mentor," says Nathan Emery, executive director. "Meeting weekly with their mentor and attending an educational session, these individuals are committed to both learning and changing negative lifestyle patterns.
"Love INC appreciates the willingness of The Pampered Lady to reward individuals who are working hard to set and achieve positive personal goals that lead toward self reliance."
Through community participation via toy donations, Love INC provided toys for 15 families representing between 20 and 30 children. Through community efforts, children and their families recieved a welcome surprise this Christmas
"We'd like to thank the community as well," said Cris Salway, Life Skills program manager. "It was the Adams County Community that pulled it all together."
One client commented that she had a hard time holding back tears as her children opened toys Christmas morning, the Love INC announcement said. "They got everything they wanted," she was quoted as saying.
