PROVIDENCE -- A city police officer was hurt and four people arrested after a fight broke out early today outside DeJaVu, a nightclub at Friendship and Richmond Streets.

Three women who, according to police, yelled and grabbed at officers while they tried to arrest Keegan were charged with obstructing a police officer. They are: Jennifer L. Keegan, 23, of 32 Kennedy Lane, Harrisville; Jodi B. Bilotti, 24, of 785 Victory Highway, Slatersville, and Brandy L. Bates, 22, of 2364 Putnam Pike, Chepachet.

According to the police report, Costa and another officer were posted outside the nightclub at about 1:05 when several large disturbances broke out.

Kraig Keegan was among several men punching and kicking another man, the report said.

When they ignored Costa's order to stop fighting, Costa pushed Keegan to the ground, against the bumper of a car stopped in traffic. The license plate broke off. and Keegan allegedly grabbed it and struck Costa.

As Costa and Keegan struggled, they slammed into the car's windshield, breaking it.
