It's Friday! I love how my workday feels all day on Fridays - the sweet anticipation of days off. Well, last weekend, my mom and I went to several local garage sales - and these were the best I've been to yet! Two were huge yards just filled to the brim with antique treasures, right next door to each other. One of the sales had at least nine long banquet tables covered with items - many many glass vases (that I just swoon for), balls of yarn, baskets, toys, Christmas decor and so much miscellaneous! It took my mom and I quite a while to walk up and down the isles at this sale - and it was so fun seeing all the different eras of items on display. I found a few glass-vase "keepers" that I couldn't pass up and a vintage/retro Adidas tennis racket just to give to Jordan for fun (and possible wall decor at the apartment, in the "sports room").
At the next garage sale, I found great brand-new, plaid blankets that I may embroider for a gift... and I also found an Atari complete with games! I was pumped. I knew Jordan would love it - as he begged for a Nintendo NES for Christmas last year that we are now addicted to (Super Mario Bros rocks). I found some pretty good deals and steals, and best of all - these two huge sales were a good cause, benefiting the local park's insurance and upkeep expenses. After hearing that I probably tipped them a little too high, but I'm a sucker for a good cause - an opportunity to be compassionate and generous!
Happy Friday!
