Water Damaged ceiling tiles:
Tore up carpet to find weird old tiles:
Tore out the 1/4 inch wood above the subfloor:
Install cement board:
First 6 tiles:

I think we forgot to take pictures of the mess we found when we tore out the ceiling tiles. The insulation was disintegrated and we found a huge bee hive. We also found a electrical box that had been covered by the drop ceiling. When installing the new drywall we left this bare so that we could install a ceiling light!

Taping and Sanding:

And Done!!! (just about. We have to put up new moulding, but that can wait.)
