Golden Globes

The awards shelf in my place has been feeling a little bit bare. You know, not that I'm some jaded guy who is expecting to get tux'd up and come home with a pile of gold and some phone numbers. At the Emmy's, of course, I ended up with a little of both. Not to brag, or anything.

The competition's fierce, I've got to admit it.

Thomas Haden Church - Broken Trail (AMC)

That one hurts, right there. I mean, you know, I'm not exactly a big Western guy. But I like Tom Church, I'll watch him in pretty much anything. There's a certain segment of people who are gonna vote for him, not because he's necessarily pulled off the best performance, but because of Sideways, and that's flat-out not fair.

Jeremy Irons - Elizabeth I (HBO)

Wait, I'm up against JEREMY FUCKING IRONS? How did this D & D shit wind up in my category, anyway?

Justin Kirk - Weeds (SHOWTIME)

I don't watch Showtime. What?

Masi Oka - Heroes (NBC)

Look, I get it. He's cute, and he does his little gotta-crap face and stops time. Everyone's all up in Heroes' area, but c'mon. It's a sci-fi show. NBC'll fuck it up sooner or later. Or am I the only one that remembers how Quantum Leap got yanked around?

Jeremy Piven - Entourage (HBO)

Obviously, the clear choice. Fucking flavor of the month Heroes guy'll probably win it because everyone gets all fascinated with the shiny and new.

Seriously, though. Jokes aside, best of luck to everyone in my category, and if you win, I'll be the first one there to shake your hand. Promise.
