So the Denmark band trip next year will cost us as of right now $2,000 per person.
Not bad.
But if we make enough money and have enough fund raisers, we can bring it down to at least $1,000 per person.
$1,000 is a very good deal.
:D
So it started with having to go pick up Marissa at her house.
We dropped off her little sister, Kristen, to her grandma's house. After we cashed in my check, checked out schedules for work, put gas in my truck, and bought drinks, we headed towards Houston!
We decided to go to the mall. First Colony was the first choice, but I'm tired of just going to Sugarland. I love to adventure into the city. It's so much fun. So instead of going to First Colony in Sugarland (Sugarland is south Houston area if you didn't know) we decided to go to the Galleria. I've driven to the Galleria before. That was no problem. But me, being an idiot; I decided to take a different exit from N59 to Westheimer that is closest to Post Oaks exit to the Galleria. I forgot to check the exits and we ended up going towards Downtown. I freaked out. I've never driven in downtown Houston. It was a nervous breakdown for me. I took the nearest exit that I could. It ended up to be Montrose (near the museum district), and then Montrose turned into Main St. It freaked me out a bit.
As we driving along Main St, Marissa and I both agreed it was perfect to take pictures at. So as we're driving, we end up at Rice University. We decided to park there so we could take some pictures. That took forever. A lot of the parking lots required a permit. And the visitor parking required a credit card. I seriously did not want to use my card just to park. So we drive around the university until we decided to go to the police station they have there and ask them where we could park without having to pay. They told us there was free parking on the other side of the stadium. The stadium was on the opposite end of where we wanted to take pictures. We gave up after 30 minutes and just parked in the visitor parking near Main St. It was $1 for every 20 minutes. I did the math, and that wasn't bad. $9 for 3 hours. Oh well. I paid, and we parked. We took a couple of pictures on Main St.
We saw a park across the street from the university and walked over there though the horrible traffic and on coming cars. At the park, we see a trolly driving around. We asked two ladies where the trolly was coming from. They both responded that it was from the zoo.
"Holy fuck shiz! We're at the zoo?!?!?!?!" was my first thought.
It was amazing. I couldn't believe we were at the zoo! So we decided to just skip the pictures of ourselves and go to the zoo instead. We went to the aquarium and the monkeys and...the snakes!
It was fun. Seriously, it was. One of these day's I'll be less lazy and I'll go upload the pictures.
After the zoo, we decided to retrace our steps to find our way out of downtown.
We take Main and back on Montrose. Leaving the museum district, we went to the gay district. We stopped at Hollywood Supergay Buy Store (hee-hee). We found Westheimer off of Montrose and went due south.
And around the corner comes TaxiTaxi!
A great thrift store that sells very very neat clothes for cheep! I've been to TaxiTaxi once before. During my freshmen year in high school, we went on a German trip (the same trip I got suspended from school because I took a bottle of whiskey to the trip) in Houston. It was for some competition with all the German clubs in the Houston area. My friend Samantha made her boyfriend follow us there to Houston so when she had the chance, they could leave when she wanted to. She invited her friend Jenna and me to go with her. We went to TaxiTaxi and Leopard Lounge. Well, those are the exact places Marissa and I went.
She bought me two shirts from TaxiTaxi. I bought myself a jacket. I didn't want her to spend ann extra $20 on me. I dunno if you German folk out there are gonna enjoy this as much as I did.
It's a white Puma jacket that says...
Get this.
DEUTSCHLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It made my heart beat faster.
Here's what it sort of looks like.
I say sort of because you can't see it completely.
I'll explain about that picture later.
So after TaxiTaxi, we head on over to Leopard Lounge, which is right down the street. About three stores down. I buy these shoes. But once again, I'm an idiot; I only saw the size that said 9, and bought them. They didn't fit.
I was a little aggravated with myself, but no biggie. I just wanted to return them after I just bought them. They told me their return policy was exchange or store credit. I didn't care. So I got a shirt instead. And a necklace.
After that, we left and went due south again on Westheimer.
We found the Galleria!!!
It was funny. Since that was the first place we wanted to go, we ended up going after all.
:D
We ate there.
I bought a 6 inch pizza sub from Subway, and we split that.
We both weren't that hungry.
After that, we headed home.
I got lost a bit, but I found my way around.
It was awesome that I learned how to drive in downtown area in one day! All it takes is some experience.
:)
Best Day of my Life.
:D
So what do ya'll guys think?
Should I go to Denmark next year?
I think I might....I dunno...
Totally did not explain about the picture.
Well, we ended up going to the Apple store. it was small, hot, smelly, but neat.
I just love messing with the iMac they have there.
It's so much fun.
So Marissa and I just took a couple of photos with the PhotoBooth thingy on the computer.
And we uploaded them on MySpace.
I know. We're losers.
So what.
:D
It was worth it.
