So I'm really excited. They announced today that our school will be one of 3 "super centers" in Georgia for the evacuees of Louisiana and Mississippi starting tomorrow morning at 9am. This means there is super security everywhere, media galore, and much help needed. The Red Cross has taken over half of our school basically. I have volunteered to work every Friday from 4-8pm for the next 3 month or more. I will also work more days as needed.
Red Cross will be stationed here to give the victims money, clothes, food, housing and job information, school info, counseling, the works.
Our school has also decided that for college students who were victims if their college was destroyed from hurricane Katrina they can enroll in the undergrad program at our school for the upcoming quarter (starting OCT 3rd) for free. That way they won’t loose out on education, they will be able to continue business as usual.
Things will be a bit hectic around here for the next few months, busy busy. I hope it is all smooth and controlled. Hopefully its all for the best!! :)
