The part of our education system I dislike is it doesn't really teach people how to think for themselves anymore. It's more about spoonfeeding them opinions. It's become more like 1984 than we probably all appreciate.
If you have a different opinion on something, find a way to express it politely. Your entitled to it. It's what college is about. Being an ass about it throwing it in someone's face won't help, but finding a way to express it politely will get a conversation. In that respect its just like LARP. >wink<
I've taken plenty of courses since I started working. I've often found that the material that gets taught in the ivory tower schools has nothing to do with reality. I generally don't beat the teacher over the head with it publicly, but will discuss it after the fact with him/her to point out the inconsistencies. Once I do that they usually are much more receptive to in class discussions. Then again, all the stuff I take classes on is for serious working propeller heads to begin with. We're hardly normal school students.
